Una Math Student Receives Top Award At Alabama Academy Of Science Conference

FLORENCE, Ala. - A University of North Alabama student was the recipient of the top honor at a recent conference. Alex Edwards received the award for the most outstanding presentation in the paper competition for mathematics and physics at the Alabama Academy of Science Conference this past week.
Students representing UNA's physics and math departments presented papers at the 92nd annual meeting, March 12 -13. Edwards is currently a member of UNA's Math/CS Undergraduate Research Team; his faculty mentor is Dr. Jessica Stovall.
Caleb Lane, Maisey Hunter, Matthew Morgan, Christian Bayens and Mary McDaniel presented their undergraduate research at the Academy conference as well. They are mentored by Brian Thompson, Mel Blake and Paul Davison of the UNA Physics Department.
